About the Client

Octopus Investments Limited is a London-based investment firm managing over £8.9 billion for 55,000+ investors, focusing on renewable energy, healthcare, property, and SMEs since 2000.

Challenge

• Multiple independent apps required separate logins and stored user credentials in silos, causing friction, higher support overhead, and security risks.
 • The client needed a centralized, role-based authentication service to provide seamless access across investor, advisor, and internal portals.

Solution

Authentication Service Development

Leveraging IdentityServer4, we built a dedicated authentication microservice implementing registration, user management, and OAuth2/OpenID Connect flows and creating scalable infrastructure

Front-End Integration

Created a React-based admin panel and integrated login flows into existing applications, enabling single sign-on and unified user sessions, demonstrating effective system integration and enhancing the user experience.

Secure Data Management

Designed a centralized credential store in SQL Azure, audited via server-side security logs, and validated with NUnit and AutoFixture tests to ensure compliance, with a strong focus on risk assessment and data security.
